Release 9.1

Improved Email Invites

In this release, we have made significant changes to how you can accept single event meeting invites when a meeting room is booked.

Old Email Format

In the old email, you used to get a meeting invite as an .ics file. You will need to open the file, then click on Accept to add it to your calendar. Meeting Invite in old email from ecobook

New Email Format

In the new format, the email will appear as a meeting invite that you can directly accept from the viewing panel. New Meeting Invite For ecobook

Editing & Cancellation

The same applies when you are editing or cancelling the meeting. Just make sure to click the “Delete” button in the details pane to remove the event from the calendar.

Recurring Events

For recurring events, we still maintain the old way of sending meeting invites as multiple .ics files will be in one email. This is to prevent “spamming” your inbox with multiple emails.

Administrative Setting For Email Management

Administrators can enable or disable email sending in the administration panel under Global Settings.

Administrators can also set if the meeting appointment email is automatically added to the user’s calendar. By unchecking the “Auto-Add Appointments To Mail Calendar”, users will get an email with an ICS file, similar to the old email format.

Multi-Factor Authentication

In order to increase the security of local accounts, we have launched multi-factor authentication. When enabled, local users will have to download the Microsoft Authenticator App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store to register. Each time you login, you will be required to enter a one-time, 6-digit pin.

Removing Reset Password Emails from Email Logs

For security reasons, we are removing the reset password email from the email logs. From now on, administrators will not be able to see a copy of the email that is sent to the users who have requested an email password reset. Administrators can still reset the password on behalf of the user in addition to the users themselves resetting the password from the login page.
